Return/Sell Rental Product

This window is triggered on a Rental Return when the rental product has been flagged as M in the Return column of the product details, to indicate that the rental product needs to be invoiced for the rental time and also needs to be invoiced as sold to the customer.

The prompts to trigger the sale or disposal of the rental product on the Rental Return are:

PRODUCT #

The rental product number and description are displayed.

QUANTITY STILL ON RENT

This count defaults from the product quantity Out on Rent for this rental product detail line.
Over-type this count with the actual quantity that will remain out on rent after this rental return is completed.
i.e. for a non-bulk rental product that is to be sold over-type this count with 0 (zero)

QUANTITY RETURNED

Leave the Returned Quantity as zero for a non-bulk rental product that is to be sold, or for bulk rental products, enter the quantity from this detail line that is being returned to stock at the rental store.
i.e. quantity returned and not being sold

QUANTITY SOLD

This count defaults to the difference in the quantity and represents the quantity that is to be sold on the invoice.
It can be over-type if required, but the combined quantity must balance with the Quantity on Contract.

QUANTITY ON CONTRACT

This is the quantity on the contract for this product detail line and is displayed for reference only.

DISPOSAL REASON

Enter a reason code for this disposal or select one from the drop-down list, as outlined in Disposal Information.

Finished?

Click ACCEPT to accept this product counts, and to generate the sale of the rental product on the invoice being created from this Rental Return.
The sale transaction will be listed on the Invoice Details below the rental billing charges for the product.

Click Cancel to abort the sale
If the sale is aborted, the Return field in the product detail reverts to N in the Rental Return detail.
