Automatic Login by Operating System Login Name


System Maintenance Menu -> Configure System Settings -> Security Tab -> General Settings -> Auto Login by Login Name

When a user signs into the software, the division and operator code can be automatically defaulted on the sign-on screen based on the login user name information assigned in this Auto Login table.
The cursor then stops only on the password field.

If the user name is not recognized the cursor stops on the division field, then the operator and password fields.

The operator can always click on the division and/or operator code and over-ride either if required.
If the Operators By Division feature is not activated for your company, the Division field does not apply at sign on.

Note: This feature does not apply to Web App or Open Client sessions, as the user cannot be determined.

The prompts are:

START LOGIN
Leave this field blank to view all the login records for all divisions. in the file, or enter the first few characters of the login name to start the list at a specific record.

SEARCH BY KEYWORD
Alternatively, use a keyword, letter, or a string of characters or numbers to narrow down the search.
All records that find a match to the characters in the O/S Login name, will be displayed.

DIVISION OR "ALL"
This field only applies if the Operators By Division feature is activated for your company.

Accept the default ALL to list operator records for all divisions, or select a single division from the drop-down list.


Finished?
Click SEARCH to generate a list of operator records.

Operator Sign In Details:
The matching operator records are listed with the Operating System name, division, and operator code, as follows.

SEQ
The sequence number tracks the number of records displayed in the table.

O/S LOGIN
Enter the name the operator uses to sign into the Operating System.
  • LINUX Operating System - this would be the login name to the LINUX network
  • Windows Server System - this would be the Windows Workstation name, that can be viewed in the path for My Documents


DIV
This field only applies if the Operators By Division feature is activated for your company.

Enter the division or select one from the drop-down list.


OPR
Enter the Operator code that should default on the sign on screen, as setup in Operators.

Click OK to accept the operator sign in information.
