DPL Gateway Configuration

System Maintenance Menu -> DPL Configuration -> Gateway Configuration

This DPL Configuration option is only available in the menu tree on Linux systems when the Telematics processing has been activated in the Software Integration.
Integration with the DPL system enables email alerts regarding non-bulk rental equipment risk levels to be sent to the equipment service managers and to the site superintendents defined on the rental document.

Refer to the Software Integration for feature activation and an overview.
Then use the following configuration utilities to structure your firm's alert process:

CONFIGURATION
Select each of the following setup utilities in turn and in the following sequence:
When the Gateway Configuration option is selected from the Configuration radio group, the following fields can be defined:

ALARM PROCESSING INTERVAL
Enter the interval at which the interface is to be called, in seconds. This is converted to minutes.
0 minutes indicates the alarm processing is disabled.

Note: If one interface is running, the next interface cannot start until the running interface either times out or completes its task.

TIMEOUT INTERVAL
Enter the error timeout interval where the interface stops trying, in seconds. This is converted to minutes.
The timeout and interval times need to be properly set based on the Internet connectivity, speed, and SOAP interface return rates.

ERROR MESSAGE EMAIL INTERVAL
Enter the interval in seconds at which an error warning message should be resent if the interface to DPL is down or if there is any issue with connecting to the DPL gateway to fetch alarms. This is converted to minutes.

i.e. If interval is 10 minutes, then it will only report once every 10 minutes that there are errors connecting to the server.
This does not control alert message frequencies, if an alert comes in ever minute, that will be mailed based on the email Alarm Processing Interval.

EMAIL ERRORS TO THIS ADDRESS
Enter the email address of the staff member who should receive DPL gateway connection failure error.

GATEWAY RUNS IN DEBUG MODE
When debugging is enabled, the PERL script that fetches alarms and inserts them into the oracle database, logs debug status messages both to the oracle DPL tables and to /var/log/syslog on the Linux server.

Click ACCEPT to accept the configuration values and proceed with the Notification Times setup next.
