DPL Notification Times

System Maintenance Menu -> DPL Configuration -> Notification Times

After the Gateway Configuration has been setup, this screen can be used to define the notification codes that control the severity level of those codes and when the notifications get sent.
The default codes for the Data Tags can also be defined.

Use the following configuration utilities to structure your firm's alert process:

CONFIGURATION
Select each of the following setup utilities in turn and in the following sequence:

When the Notification Times option is selected from the Configuration radio group, the following fields can be defined:

Defining the Weekend Period:
The following date fields set the period defined as the "Weekend" so that certain less critical alerts can be configured to be suppressed over the weekend period.
WEEKEND START
Enter the time on Friday at which the interface to send alerts needs to recognize the time period as being the beginning of the weekend.
This time period is respected by the alert emailing trigger, when the Send On Weekends column is unchecked (declined).

Note: Times should be entered using a 24 hour clock.
i.e. 5:30PM should be entered as 17:30

WEEKEND END
Enter the time on Monday at which the interface to send alerts needs to recognize the weekend is over, and that alerts now need to be emailed even if Send On Weekends column is unchecked.

Note: If a store or division is located in a different time zone, an off-set time can be defined in the Division Setup to allow for the time difference.

Notification Code Table:
At least three Notification Codes representing the three different severity levels should be setup as follows:
SEQ
The sequence number tracks the records in the table.
CODE
Enter a single letter or number to represent the Notification Code.
DESCRIPTION
Enter a brief description useful for this code.
IGNORE
Check this box if this code should not trigger an email alert notification, and the Start Time and End Time fields will become 00:00:00.
Uncheck this box if this code should trigger an email alert notification.
START TIME
Leave this field blank if a notification should be sent at any time during the day or night, or enter a daily starting time at which email alerts should be sent.
END TIME
Leave this field blank if a notification should be sent at any time during the day or night, or enter a daily ending time at which email alerts should stop being sent. Note: If the Start Time and End Time fields are set to the same time, then the Ignore flag is set and no emails will be sent.
SEND ON WEEKEND
Check this box if this code is serious enough that email alerts should be triggered on weekends.
Uncheck this box if this code should respect the Weekend Start to the Weekend End period and should not trigger an email alert notification during this time period.
Suggested Notification Codes that could be used as the Defaults, would be:
N - No Notification - set to Ignore
R - Reporting - set to send alerts during business hours to Equipment Manager but not Site Superintendent, and not on Weekends
C - Critical - for serious issues requiring attention by Site Superintendent and Store Equipment Manager follow up, to be sent at any time even on Weekends

Note: A Notification Code cannot be deleted if has been assigned to one or more Data Tags.

Defaults for Data Tags:
Once the Notification Codes have been entered, set the defaults for use when the Data Tags are created in the three default fields. The Notification Time Search window can be used to view and select the appropriate code.
DEFAULT NONE
DEFAULT REPORT
DEFAULT CRITICAL
