Print Free Form Labels

** This utility is under development and is not yet available. **

This program was developed to make labels for non-standard sized labels.
It can print one address (or message) at a time, or multiple labels for this address.

Note: Labels can be printed using Laser printing only from an MFC Windows Client.
To print labels from a Web Session or from an Open Client session, generate the Customer list to Excel and use that software to print labels.

Determine the specifications of your own label and determine where the label fits on your printer. This may take several print tests, to determine the best label alignment.
For assistance with this, contact Texada Support.

The prompts are:

NUMBER OF LABELS TO PRINT
Enter the # of labels to print for this customer. Up to 999 labels may be printed per print run. To print 5 labels for this customer, type 5

ENTER PRINTER OFFSET
The Printer Offset is the distance the printer head must move from the left edge to the label before it begins to print the address.

Enter the number of characters from the left edge of the printer carriage to the beginning of the label.
Experiment with this to find the right offset. Try between 10 and 25.

NUMBER OF LINES BETWEEN LABELS
This refers to the height of the label.
.i.e. The number of lines from the top of the first label to the top of the next label.

PRINT LABEL NUMBERS (Y/N)
Type N (NO) if each label does not require a separate number. All labels will look the same. The cursor will skip to LINE 1.

Type Y (YES) to have the number of the label print at the top of the label, before the address. This is useful when are mailing several boxes that must be numbered:
i.e. 1 of 5, 2 of 5, 3 of 5 etc.

START AT LABEL NUMBER
Press <ENTER> to begin at label 1, or type in the first number.

TEXT BEFORE
The TEXT BEFORE refers to the words that print before the label number.
This defaults to DISK# since Texada Support use this program for numbering disks. This makes it print as DISK# 2 OF 5.

The text "DISK#" can be changed to "BOX#" or to "PKG#".
i.e. BOX# 1 OF 5

Alternatively, press Space Bar to blank it out. This results in: "1 OF 5", without any reference to box or package.

TEXT AFTER
OF 5 - The TEXT AFTER refers to the TOTAL NUMBER of labels to be printed.
i.e. BOX # 1 OF 5

LINE 1 TO 6
There are up to 6 lines for the address and message.

When using the label numbering, leave the first line blank, to create a space between the label number and the address.

ENTER TO ACCEPT, / TO CANCEL
A printer can be selected from the Printer option located on the menu bar at the top of the screen.

Press <ENTER> to begin printing the report, or / to cancel.

PRINT SAMPLE LABEL (Y/N)
Type Y (YES) for an alignment test.
Type N (NO) to start the labels.
