Misc Commands

** This utility is under development and is not yet available. **

This option will contain system operating commands and instructions that are used by SRM software programs under specific circumstances. By storing the standard operating commands here which suit your particular system, your staff will not need to know the specific system command in order to execute a function that is linked from SRM to the system shell.

For example, Mailing Labels By Range Selection allows for the labels to be output to an ASCII file, which is then copied to a floppy disk. The SRM software program will use the copying instructions and diskette drive setup here to determine where to copy the ASCII file.

The prompts are:

DOS DISKETTE DRIVE
Enter the device name or drive letter that would be applicable, to copy from LINUX or NOVELL/DOS to a DOS Diskette. e.g. a:

Some hardware systems do not refer directly to diskette drive letters, but use /dev/name instead, where "name" is the technical name of the device. Refer to your hardware expert for this.

COPY FILE TO DOS DISKETTE
LINUX: Enter the LINUX command that would be used to copy a file from LINUX to a DOS diskette. e.g. doscp
Some firms do not use the standard doscp command, but would use dcopy instead. Check with your hardware expert for this.

DOS: Enter the DOS command that would be used to copy a file from your hard disk to a DOS diskette. e.g. copy
