Marketing Codes

System Maintenance Menu -> Configure System Settings -> System Tab -> General Settings -> Marketing Codes

The marketing codes are used on documents to print out a general marketing message.
The marketing message is up to four lines long. It prints in the document header after the comments/notes and before the product details.

The codes can be maintained in the Marketing Codes window in the "General Settings" on the System tab of the Configure System Settings.
An operator must be assigned a Security Role that allows permission to the System - Marketing Codes in order to access this table.

A default Marketing Code can be set by division in the Print Settings of Divisional Invoice Parameters.
The prompts are:

CODE
Use up to 2 characters for the marketing code.
e.g. E - Easter, C - Clearance Sale
Do not use the BLANK code, since this is used when a comment is NOT required.

DESCRIPTION
This is a basic description to identify the message.
This Description is not printed on the document.
e.g. SPRING SALE

Comment Content:
The details of the message print exactly as the comments are setup.
COMMENTS
There are four comment lines each 60 characters long which print as the marketing message.
A blank line can be left at the beginning of the message to off-set or add "spacers" around the message.

Note: If these comments are to be printed on a Slip Printer invoice, the comments need to be limited to 40 characters per line in order to fit on the hardcopy invoice without being truncated.

Finished?
Click the ACCEPT button to exit.
Note: If your firm uses the Alternate Language feature as activated in the Company Miscellaneous Parameters, then separate Marketing Codes can be setup with text for the separate languages, to be used when the Marketing Code is manually selected by the operator for individual documents.
For more generic comments that are assigned at the division level, or auto-assigned by the system such as a Seasonal Billing Comment, the Marketing Code should include both languages in the comment text.
