Dollar/Time Utilization Overview

Automated Job Scheduling

To take advantage of the Dollar/Time Utilization reporting, the data must first be captured through the Automated Job Scheduling.

By using automated job scheduling, certain maintenance and reporting jobs, including these Rental Utilization reports based on product data sets, can be setup to run automatically at specific times as a CRONJOB. The listing of these jobs can be maintained in Automatic Job Scheduling, assigning the occurrence, time, and printer. The last date and time that the job was run is also displayed here.
This feature is only available to LINUX and NT systems.

A "Snapshot" must first record the status of each rental product. This can be setup in the schedule under the following job names:

• RSTU01 - On Hand by Product#, by Location, by Date
  This job is usually set to be run first thing in the morning to capture the quantity on hand each day.

• RSTU02 - On Rent by Product#, by Location, by Date
  This job is usually set to be at the end of the day to capture the quantity on rent by the day's end.

• RSDU01 - Accrued Revenue by Product#, by Location, by Date
  This job calculates the revenue that has yet to be billed for every outstanding contract, as if it was returned today. The Billed revenue is tracked at the time of posting through Daily Close 2.
  Accrued revenue can optionally be included in the two dollar utilization reports $ Utilization By Group and $ Utilization By Tool.

• RSTU04 - Email Failed Data Capture
  This cronjob generates an email to the address setup in Failed Data Capture Email List to warn that a Data Capture snapshot failed on the prior day.

Once the daily snapshots have been recorded, the output can then later be generated as a report from:

• Time Utilization Reporting
• Dollar Utilization Reporting including the following reports:

  $ Utilization By Group
  $ Utilization By Tool
