Inventory Adjustment Types


System Maintenance Menu -> Configure System Settings -> Accounting Tab -> Inventory -> Adjustment Types

Inventory adjustment types are used in quantity adjustments and product transfers.

Types can be maintained in the Inventory Adjustment Types window on the in the "Inventory" parameters on the Accounting tab of the Configure System Settings.
An operator must be assigned a Security Role that allows permission to the Accounting - Adjustment Types in order to access this table.

A G/L posting account can be assigned by adjustment type. A posting is made to this account for the value of the inventory when product quantities are changed in Count Merchandise Inventory By Store or in Write-Off Merchandise Inventory.

The selection of inventory transfer records with transfer types is displayed on Inventory Adjustment Inquiry and printed from Inventory Adjustment Report.
Quantity adjustments display the selected adjustment type.
Regular inventory transfer records are included in the blank type "Unassigned".
Type 'PS' is automatically assigned to transfers of a Primary sales product to a Secondary product.

Note: A G/L posting account can be assigned to the blank adjustment type code record.
This account is used as the default expense account if records without a G/L account are posted in Post Inventory Adjustments.
