Product Group Search

Search window -> Group field -> Product Group Search

To view all Groups, leave both the Description and Keyword Search fields blank and click SEARCH.

The "Description" and "Keyword Search" filters are provided to narrow down the resulting Group list. Enter a string of characters or numbers to use in the search, and then click SEARCH.

This "Keyword Search" differs from the traditional "Description Search" in that it checks the entire description for a match. It does not just return groups starting with the characters entered the way that the regular Description search does.

e.g. If the letters "FOR" are entered in the traditional Description field it will return all groups starting with the letters FOR such as FORKLIFTS.

If the same characters are entered in the Keyword Search field, it will return FORKLIFTS and would also return 4 WHEEL DRIVE FORKLIFTS etc.

Search Results:
The list can be resorted by any column in ascending or descending order, by clicking in the column heading.
Columns can also be dragged and dropped to reposition them as required.

To select a value from the displayed list, double-click on the appropriate record, or highlight the record and click the SELECT button.

Add Group On-the-Fly:
When new products are being added, and a new Group is also required, click the ADD button at the bottom of the search window, and add the Group as outlined in Add Product Group.

The ability to add new Groups can be controlled at the operator level according to whether the Security Role that is assigned to the Operator allows access to allows access to Groups.

Note: This button is only enabled when a Group is being added "on-the-fly" for the purposes of creating a new product# and the operator has permission to add groups.
