Exchange Product Class

This utility is useful in amalgamating several Product Classes together.
A range of products in the old product class can be moved to the new product class.
The new product class must have first been setup in Sales Product Classes or Rental Product Classes before proceeding.

When finished, the old product class can be deleted using Delete Product Classes.
The prompts are:

OLD CLASS

Type in the existing source product class or select it from the Product Class Search window.
The products will be moved from this source class to the New Class.

CLASS TYPE

The type of Product Class either Rental or Sales, is displayed for information.

NEW CLASS

Type in the target product class or select it from the Product Class Search window.
The products will be moved from the Old Class to this target class and the Class change is tracked in the Audit Log for each product.

The classes are compatible. Products in a Rental Class can only be moved to Rental Class, and products in a Sales Class can only be moved another Sales Class.

FROM PRODUCT NUMBER

Leave this field blank to move all products in the class or enter the first product number in the selection range to be moved, or select it from the Inventory Search window.

TO PRODUCT NUMBER

Leave this field blank to move all products in the class or enter the last product number in the selection range to be moved, or select it from the Inventory Search window.

CONVERT MONTHLY HISTORY

Check this box to change the monthly history records for these products to the new Product Class.

Uncheck this box to leave the monthly product history assigned to the old Product Class.
This is not advisable if the old Product Class is to be deleted.

UPDATE CLASS ON GROUPS

Uncheck this box if the Product Class on associated Groups should not be changed.
Check this box if any Groups that have been assigned the Old Class should be re-assigned the New Class.

The Class changes on products are tracked in the Audit Log.
