Add Sales Products to Merge Queue

This utility can be used to generate a list of sales parts based on low Sales History activity, that can be merged into one "retired" product# by populating and utilizing the Merge Sales Product Numbers worksheet.

An option is provided to exclude products that do NOT have any Sales History, to eliminate any new parts that have recently been added to stock but are too new to have Sales History postings.

The prompts are:

CUT-OFF ACTIVITY DATE

Accept the default date from 1 year ago today or enter a preferred cut-off date.

This cut-off date can be used to determine if the Sales product has Sales History postings later than this date, and should be exclude from the queue as it could still be potentially active.

FROM PRODUCT CLASS

Leave this field blank to include all Sales Product Classes, or enter a starting class, or select one from the Product Class Search window.

TO PRODUCT CLASS

Enter an ending Sales Product Class or select one from the window.

INCL. PROD WITH NO SALES HIST

Check this box to include Sales Parts in the Product Class range, even if there is no Sales History activity at all.
Only parts with zero quantity and no quantities on Order will automatically be included by this utility.

Uncheck this box to omit Sales Parts that do not have any Sales History from the merge queue regardless of quantity on hand.

SKIP PRODUCTS WITH CURRENT ACTIVITY

Check this box to cause the program to check for any activity after the cut-off date.
If current activity is found the product will not be included in the list.
For parts that do have some old Sales History, all the sales activity must be dated earlier than the cut-off date.

Uncheck this box to skip this product activity check.
Confirmations is required as Sales parts with Sales History postings later than the cut-off date, could still be potentially active.

Note: If this product check is skipped, it is important to check the resulting product list carefully and remove any active products from the list that should NOT be merged before proceeding with the merge action.
Be advised that once executed, this operation cannot be undone.
Hence, prior to running this request, verify in the play environment that the results obtained from running this operation are as expected.

MERGE TO PRODUCT #

Enter an existing Sales part # to merge to, or select it from the Inventory Search window.
A special "delete" sales product number can be setup in Add Sales Parts to be used for deleted parts. e.g. ZZZZ

Click ACCEPT to build the list of eligible products, or CANCEL to abort.

Resulting Parts Merge Worksheet:
A list of sales product numbers to be merged into the one product number, is displayed on the Merge Sales Product Numbers worksheet.
All eligible records will be flagged to change to the Merge Product#.
Verify and that the products listed are correct as outlined in Merge Sales Product Numbers before completing the merge.
Note: When the merge is completed the "old" sales part numbers will be deleted.
