Recalculate Inventory Availability

Utilities Menu -> Counter -> Recalculate Inventory Availability

System Maintenance Menu -> Configure System Settings -> Automatic Job Scheduling -> Function RSRQ91B -> runs Recalculate Inventory Availability

This utility recounts and resets the product quantities ON CONTRACT, ON RESERVATION, ON ORDER, ON BACKORDER and ON W.O. that are stored in Sales Inventory or Rental Inventory.
This utility can be accessed from the Utilities menu for Counter operations.

For each product, it adds up the open contracts, reservations and open orders to determine the total quantity out on the contracts, on the reservations and the orders, and then it corrects these totals in the product file.

It may be necessary to run this utility if any contract, reservation or order files became corrupt or were otherwise not kept in sync with the product files, due to a power failure or hard disk failure, etc. This utility should only be run if the quantities are out of sync.
However if it is initiated accidentally, it will not cause problems but could waste time and could lock other processes.

This process can be set to run regularly automatically using Automatic Job Scheduling where the start time and frequency can be defined for the job RSRQ91B.

WARNING: Depending on the database size this rebuild utility may be a lengthy process, and operators may be locked out of certain areas of operation during that time.
It is therefore recommended that this utility always be run after store hours.
